Program Goals and Mission:

The Fellowship Initiative (TFI) is a collaborative effort founded by the JPMorgan Chase Foundation to expand opportunities and facilitate academic, personal, and professional achievement for Black, Latino and other young men of color.

The mission of TFI is to help young men acquire the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to succeed academically, achieve their personal and professional potential, and establish themselves as the next generation of global leaders.

Creating Opportunity:

America is known as a land of opportunity that offers its 250 million residents numerous pathways to success. For many young Americans, however, particularly those from economically-distressed communities, the educational opportunities and focused support systems needed to help them achieve their full potential are not readily accessible.

For Black and Latino youth, in particular, an array of challenges can impede future success, including: negative peer influence, poor educational opportunities, lack of positive role models, and exposure to environments with many social risk factors. The Fellowship Initiative offers an opportunity that broadens access to educational support and expands professional pathways for adolescent Black and Latino males who stand to benefit the most.
